ART

Artistic expression is essential for human life and the development of societies in which the man lives, it also has its own languages which makes it a universal way of communication and at the same time allows a variety of such broad expressions as the creativity of the different cultures. Art offers a direct and practical relationship with all key competences and its integrative and interdisciplinary nature, it is essential at this stage of the development of students, as the main purpose is to provide the tools and resources to enable them to analyse and understand the natural, social and cultural reality around them while he learns to express creatively and critically, their feelings, ideas and experiences.

It is important that students do not become mere passive observers of our culture and social reality (society filtered through aesthetic references of all kinds, present both in their socialization processes, such as the construction of identity), so art education is necessary through the plastic activity training as it is an ideal place to be active, critical and sensitive citizens with the environment surrounding them and to make them able to interact with their environment, analysing and understanding constant and bulk messages that currently are transmitted through images and the media to later create original solutions.

Art Education is crucial to learn to analyse and solve problems creatively in different areas of knowledge strengthening at the same time the contents worked in the other subjects at SE. By studying and experimenting with different languages and visual and audio-visual codes, the learner may feel able to handle various tools and resources in different contexts, responding to their expressive and communicative needs.

Through scheduled blocks of content for courses from 1st to 2nd ESO (Block 1: Artistic expression, Block 2: Audio-visual Communication and Block 3: Technical drawing applied to projects), students acquire different skills that will enable them to develop a personal form of expression. These contents will be expanded in the course of 4th ESO (Block 1: Artistic expression, Block 2: Technical drawing applied to projects, Block 3: Fundamentals of design and Block 4: Audio-visual and multimedia language). Training at this stage includes learning the different artistic languages, from cinema, photography, design to technical drawing. These resources are critical to assimilate content from other areas and represent the foundation for future studies, responding to current communication needs, delving into the creative process of solving problems of everyday reality and the decisive use of new technologies as an expressive medium.
